Reviving Soil for a Sustainable Future
"2025 Gurye Carbon Neutral Soil Revival Expo"
Experience the Value of Healthy Soil and Carbon Neutrality at Jirisan History and Culture Center
Gurye County in South Jeolla Province announced on September 3 that it will host the "2025 Gurye Carbon Neutral Soil Revival Expo" for three days from the 19th to the 21st at the Jirisan History and Culture Center and surrounding areas.
This year's expo, held under the theme "Soil Lives, Earth Survives," will feature a theme pavilion, a corporate pavilion, an eco-friendly flea market and promotional hall, a medicinal chef's garden, and a global citizen talk show. Through a variety of exhibitions and hands-on experiences, visitors can directly see and enjoy the value of soil and the importance of carbon neutrality in nature.
In particular, the newly introduced medicinal chef's garden will showcase Chef Kim Yeonsu, Korea's first food therapist, who will demonstrate dishes using local agricultural products. This will provide visitors with the opportunity to experience and taste the value of produce grown in healthy soil.
In addition, expo ambassadors including international environmental experts such as Belgian representative Julian Quintart, Brazilian representative Carlos Gorito, and Italian representative Cristina will participate to share the value of soil in their respective countries and practical approaches to achieving carbon neutrality with visitors.
County Governor Kim Soonho stated, "This expo is not just an exhibition or an experience event, but a valuable opportunity for people to directly see and feel the importance of soil revival. I hope many people will visit the expo and join us in experiencing and empathizing with the value of healthy soil and our response to the climate crisis."
