On September 2, Lee Seungwon, Deputy Mayor of Economic Affairs for Sejong City, visited Korea Sauce Co., a promising local company, and held a meeting to explore practical industry-academia cooperation models between universities and businesses. This onsite visit was conducted in connection with the Sejong RISE project, which has been actively promoted since this year, to establish the foundation for strengthening the local industrial ecosystem through the creation of contract-based academic departments (tracks), joint R&D projects, and company-tailored cooperation models such as field training and internships. The goal is to concretize these models and foster collaboration among universities, companies, and local governments. At the meeting, Deputy Mayor Lee stated, "Korea Sauce is more than just a company that produces sauces; it is a business with a story of continuous challenge and innovation, growing together with the local community. We will actively support the development of practical industry-academia cooperation models such as contract-based academic departments and joint R&D, and provide more field experience and job opportunities for young people."
