Why did officials from Dong-gu District Office in Incheon visit Busan Port?
On September 2, Busan Port Authority (President Song Sanggeun) announced that Kim Chanjin, Mayor of Dong-gu District Office in Incheon, along with other officials, visited the North Port Redevelopment Project area to hear updates on the project's progress and engage in exchanges.
This visit was arranged so that Dong-gu District in Incheon could learn from Busan Port. The North Port Redevelopment Project, recognized as a leading example of developing marine-friendly infrastructure and redeveloping port areas into tourism hubs, was chosen as a benchmark.
On this day, Busan Port Authority explained to the Incheon Dong-gu officials the progress and key achievements of the North Port Redevelopment Project, including the creation of marine-friendly parks and the operation of the North Port marina.
Busan Port Authority plans to share the achievements of port redevelopment through exchanges with local governments and related organizations. The authority also intends to cooperate to spread these models as various regional development strategies.
Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, emphasized, "I hope the achievements and experience accumulated during the North Port redevelopment process will serve as a valuable reference for Dong-gu District's related policy initiatives, and we will take the lead in active exchanges and information sharing."
