More Local Students to Benefit from Expanded Scholarship Programs
New Tuition Support Scholarship Introduced, Easing Financial Burden for Families

The Yeongyang County Talent Development Scholarship Foundation (Chairman: County Governor Oh Dochang) will select scholarship recipients for the second semester of 2025 to discover local talent and strengthen educational competitiveness.

As a result of the scholarship selection for the first semester of this year, a total of 425 students were chosen, an increase of 111 compared to the previous year (314 students), reflecting a significant rise in interest and participation from local students.

In particular, starting this year, a new scholarship program supporting university tuition fees has been introduced and received a strong response. This allows more local students to benefit in a tangible way. Unlike existing scholarships, this new program permits students to apply for multiple scholarships simultaneously, which is expected to further ease the financial burden on both students and their parents.

For the second semester of 2025, the scholarship categories include: ▲ University Student Scholarships (tuition, half-tuition, enrollment, and continuing scholarships), ▲ Talent Scholarships (arts and sports fields), and ▲ Special Scholarships, all aimed at reducing the academic burden for local university students.

Students wishing to apply should submit an application form and the required documents to the Yeongyang County Talent Development Scholarship Foundation Secretariat (Autonomous Administration Division, Yeongyang County Office). Detailed information can be found on the Yeongyang County Office website (related agency notices), and the application period is from September 1 to September 26.

Chairman Oh Dochang stated, "Following the first half of this year, we have prepared so that even more students can benefit in the second half as well," adding, "We will continue to expand our scholarship programs so that the talented individuals who will lead the future of Yeongyang County can focus on their studies without financial burden."
