Daegu Environmental Office Designates LIG Nex1 Gumi House as Green Company for Eighth Consecutive Year

The Daegu Regional Environmental Office (headed by Jinsik Kim) awarded the green company designation certificate and delivered the plaque to the LIG Nex1 Gumi House at the Daegu Regional Environmental Office on September 2.

The Green Company Designation System recognizes eco-friendly workplaces that have significantly reduced emissions of environmental pollutants and contributed to environmental improvement, such as through energy savings. The designation is made in the name of the head of the environmental office and is valid for three years. Companies designated as green companies are eligible for benefits such as exemption from regular environmental inspections and priority support for funding needed for environmental improvements.

LIG Nex1 Gumi House was first designated as an environmentally friendly company (now called a green company) in November 1999 and has been redesignated as a green company for the eighth consecutive time this year. The company was recognized for its strong commitment to environmentally friendly management, having proactively adopted ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) in 1999 and operating it in accordance with the circumstances of the workplace to this day, as well as making continuous efforts to reduce environmental pollution.

Jinsik Kim, head of the Daegu Regional Environmental Office, stated, "I hope that LIG Nex1 Gumi House will continue to practice green management, contribute to improving the local environment, and serve as a role model for the community," adding, "We plan to actively support green companies so they can continue their eco-friendly management."
