Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will host the '2025 Incheon Well-Medi Festa Week' throughout Incheon from September 4 to 7.
This event, themed 'FOREST, for rest,' is a lifestyle wellness festival for both citizens and domestic and international tourists to enjoy together. Beyond simple experiences, it also serves as a platform to share the wellness tourism policies promoted by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
Since 2021, Incheon Metropolitan City has been systematically nurturing wellness tourism destinations for six consecutive years, establishing itself as a leading model in the metropolitan area. In particular, to proactively respond to the 'Act on the Promotion of Healing Tourism Industry' scheduled to take effect next year, the city plans to shift away from the traditional exhibition-style promotional booths and instead hold the Well-Medi Festa as an independent event, aiming to develop it into Incheon's signature brand festival.
The main event will take place on September 6 at Incheon Sangsang Platform. Fitness sessions such as Healing Stretching by Bbangneu, Refresh Pilates by Vitamin Sinjinny, and K-Barre by Nam Ji-hyun will be held, along with experience zones offering therapies like auricular acupuncture, five elements therapy, and personal color analysis. In addition, a promotional booth in collaboration with 'Obut,' a wellness and fitness reservation platform, will be featured.
Regional experience programs have also been expanded. On September 4, the 'Sunset and Starlight Yoga Festival' in collaboration with Jamsiseom Village will be held at Goryeogungji in Ganghwa Island. On September 5, 'Healing Starlight Yoga and Meditation with Citizens' will take place at Songdo Tri-bowl Square, and on September 7, the 'Stira Yoga Yeongjongdo Yoga Festival' will be held at Yeongjongdo Seaside Park. Participants can register through the official website.
Also, on September 6 at Sangsang Platform, the 'Incheon Well-Medi Convergence Forum' will be held, where experts and citizens will discuss strategies to respond to the Act on the Promotion of Healing Tourism Industry. At the quarterly Incheon Well-Medi regular meeting, also held on the same day, there will be education sessions on the development and promotion of wellness tourism products.
This festival is expected to expand the economic impact of wellness tourism in the region by linking with local wellness destinations and promoting consumption in accommodation, food and beverage, and transportation. The results of participant satisfaction surveys will be used to improve future policies and projects.
Baek Hyun, President of the Incheon Tourism Organization, stated, "Through this festival, which both citizens and tourists can experience together, we aim to make wellness a part of everyday culture. As 'dailycation,' where foreigners experience the daily lives of Koreans, is gaining popularity, we will further develop the Well-Medi Festa as a flagship brand event and establish Incheon as a global Well-Medi city."
