Gachon University will begin accepting applications for the 2026 academic year early admission process starting on September 8.
Through this application period, which runs until September 12, Gachon University will recruit a total of 4,703 students, selecting 3,374 students, or 71%, through the early admission process. The remaining 1,329 students will be selected through the regular admission process.
The Liberal Arts major will admit 321 students through the Regional Balance Track, the same as last year. The first stage consists of 100% student academic record evaluation (with a ratio of 7:1), and the second stage is based on 50% first-stage evaluation and 50% interview assessment.
Additionally, the Specialized High School Track, which was previously operated as a comprehensive track, has been changed to an academic record-based track this year. The calculation method for student academic records has also changed: for the Academic Excellence, Rural Area, and Specialized High School Tracks, all completed subjects are reflected equally without subject-specific weighting. For the Regional Balance Track, 60% of the score is based on career elective courses and 40% on general elective courses.
The Department of Cloud Engineering is an employment-conditional contract department jointly operated by Gachon University and Kakao Enterprise through an agreement, and it is the first contract department in the field of cloud computing. All students receive full tuition scholarships for four years. The department admits 30 students, with 21 selected through the early admission process.
The early admission process is largely divided into three categories: essay-based, academic record-based, and comprehensive evaluation tracks.
The essay-based track selects 1,009 students based entirely on essay test scores. As in previous years, student academic records are not considered, and only the essay test results are used for selection. For the essay test, the humanities track consists of 9 Korean language questions and 6 mathematics questions, while the science track consists of 6 Korean language questions and 9 mathematics questions, totaling 15 questions, each worth 10 points.
For the Pre-Medical Department, the essay test consists of 8 mathematics questions with varying point values per question. The test duration is 80 minutes, the same as other tracks. Since the essay test is based on EBS College Scholastic Ability Test-linked textbooks, students who have diligently studied their regular school curriculum and the CSAT should be able to prepare without additional study.
The academic record-based track includes the Academic Excellence Track and the Rural Area (academic record) Track, both of which are based 100% on student academic records. The Regional Balance and Specialized High School Tracks use 100% academic record evaluation in the first stage, and 50% first-stage evaluation plus 50% interview assessment in the second stage.
The Academic Excellence Track selects 441 students and has minimum CSAT requirements. The Regional Balance Track selects 357 students, of which 321 are for the Liberal Arts major. For the Principal's Recommendation Track, the first stage is based on 100% academic record evaluation (with a ratio of 7:1), and the second stage is based on 50% first-stage evaluation and 50% interview assessment, with interviews conducted after the CSAT.
Gachon University is also recruiting students for early employment contract departments. The departments include Biomedical Device Engineering, Game and Video Engineering, Semiconductor and Display Engineering, Semiconductor Design Engineering, and Future Automotive Engineering. A total of 260 students will be selected.
For these departments, students are guaranteed employment upon admission and will earn a bachelor's degree through a four-year program.
