Promoting the Value of Pregnancy and Childbirth
Mapo District Holds Slogan and Photo Contest Until the 12th
Mapo District in Seoul (Mayor Park Gangsu) will hold a “Childbirth Promotion Slogan and Photo Contest” until the 12th of this month to raise public awareness about pregnancy and childbirth and to foster a childbirth-friendly atmosphere. Anyone interested in encouraging childbirth is eligible to participate in this contest.

Slogans can be submitted as phrases of around 15 characters that convey a positive image of pregnancy and childbirth. Last year, the slogan “We’re this happy, honey, should we have one more?” won the grand prize and received an enthusiastic response.
Photos must capture healthy and cherished family moments, such as the joy of pregnancy and childbirth or happy parenting. Submissions must be JPG/JPEG files of at least 3000*2000 pixels and 3MB in size.
To participate, applicants should download the application form from the notice section of the Mapo District Office website, complete it, and submit it by email to the person in charge (ambrosia26@mapo.go.kr). Each person may submit only one slogan or one photo, but participation in both categories is allowed.
Through a final review, six works will be selected and awarded: two grand prize winners (150,000 won each), two excellence award winners (100,000 won each), and two encouragement award winners (50,000 won each). The winning entries will be used as slogans and in the photo exhibition for the Pregnant Women’s Day event in October, and will also be featured in various childbirth promotion materials and exhibitions. The results of the review will be posted on the Mapo District Office website in September.
Mayor Park Gangsu of Mapo District stated, “I hope this contest will help us reflect on the precious value of pregnancy and childbirth and spread a family-friendly atmosphere,” adding, “Mapo District will do its utmost to create an environment where it is easy to have and raise children.”
