Recruitment of New Employees at 14 Lotte Affiliates Including Lotte Wellfood Begins September 3
Strengthening the I'M Process to Select Hands-On Talent
Aiming to Discover Highly Engaged Professionals with Job Expertise
Lotte announced on September 2 that it will begin "predictable rolling recruitment" starting from September 3.
This recruitment drive will involve 14 affiliates, including Lotte Wellfood, Lotte GRS, Lotte Innovate, and Lotte Duty Free, hiring new employees for more than 30 positions such as sales management, artificial intelligence (AI), and design.
Six affiliates, including Lotte Department Store, Lotte Hotel, and Lotte World, plan to select new employees through the I'M recruitment process, which is focused on practical work experience. The I'M recruitment process was introduced in June last year to select candidates with hands-on skills, evaluating practical abilities and career vision as key criteria. Unlike the general process, the I'M process first assesses a portfolio that highlights the applicant's job-related experiences and competencies, followed by an on-site audition to verify their job performance skills.
Starting with this I'M recruitment, Lotte will focus on evaluating job-related expertise to discover highly engaged talent. The company will assess applicants' attitudes toward their field and whether they create differentiated value in problem-solving. Lotte explained that the goal is to secure talent capable of developing a niche interest into a professional career. These evaluation criteria will also be applied to future experienced-hire recruitments.
The range of positions recruited through the I'M process has also been expanded. Roles requiring field expertise and active communication with customers and partners, such as sales, merchandising (MD), and customer service, have been added. Last year, the process was first applied to roles where practical skills are particularly important, such as research and development (R&D), data, and design.
The expansion of the I'M recruitment process aligns with the "job-based HR system" that Lotte Group has been implementing since last year. This system aims to strengthen the competencies and expertise required for each position based on performance frameworks by job type, fostering innovative results and securing new growth engines. So far, eight affiliates, including Lotte Innovate, Lotte Biologics, Daehong Communications, and Lotte Department Store, are operating under this system, and 28 affiliates are preparing to introduce it this year.
A Lotte representative stated, "In line with the group's desired talent profile and HR system changes, we are seeking highly engaged talent who can leverage their personal interests in their work to create synergy. Moving forward, we plan to continuously strengthen the company's core competitiveness by recruiting passionate and skilled professionals."
Detailed information on available positions and application deadlines for each affiliate can be found on the Lotte Group recruitment website.
