Golden Holiday Promotions Target Chinese Tourists with Visa-Free Entry
Partnership Events Also Prepared for Southeast Asian Customers
Lotte Duty Free announced on September 2 that it will launch the "Luxury IN FALL. Shopping, Before You Leave" promotion in September and October, targeting customers preparing for overseas trips during the Chuseok golden holiday season.
This year's Chuseok golden holiday will last up to ten days, from National Foundation Day on October 3 through the weekends of October 11 and 12. With the implementation of visa-free entry for Chinese group tourists beginning at the end of September and the Chinese National Day holiday, the number of Chinese visitors to Korea is expected to increase. In response, Lotte Duty Free has prepared a variety of events, including LDF PAY giveaways and prize draws, to capture the duty-free shopping demand of both domestic and international customers.
To support customers who feel burdened by high exchange rates, Lotte Duty Free's downtown stores will offer up to 1.51 million won in LDF PAY on weekdays and up to 1.69 million won on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, depending on the payment method, until October 31. At the Myeongdong Main Store, World Tower Store, and Jeju Store, the LDF PAY giveaway applies to the fashion, watch, and jewelry categories, while at the Busan Store, it covers all categories.
During the event period, domestic customers who make purchases of $300 or more and enter the draw at Lotte Duty Free's downtown stores will have a chance to win: ▲ First prize: a Menottes Cord Bracelet from the French luxury jewelry brand Dinh Van (1 winner), ▲ Second prize: 50,000 won in LDF PAY (3 winners), and ▲ Third prize: a Lotte Hotel Basque Cheesecake (5 winners).
Various partnership promotions targeting international customers have also been prepared. Until October 31, customers who pay with WeChat Pay at 7-Eleven will receive two types of discount coupons valid at both Lotte Duty Free and 7-Eleven. Customers who spend 350 yuan or more at Lotte Duty Free with WeChat Pay will receive an instant 50 yuan discount, and those who spend 35 yuan or more at 7-Eleven with WeChat Pay will receive a 7 yuan discount.
Additionally, until September 30, foreign customers who pay with Alipay at Lotte Duty Free's downtown stores will receive up to 150,000 won in LDF PAY on weekdays and up to 300,000 won on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, depending on the purchase amount. During the same period, foreign customers who pay with WeChat Pay at the Jeju Store and spend $150 or more will receive up to 100,000 won in LDF PAY.
Furthermore, until August 31, 2026, foreign customers holding a Batik Air Malaysia boarding pass will receive an upgrade to GOLD membership at Lotte Duty Free and discount coupons. Lotte Duty Free also plans to strengthen partnership marketing with various local companies, including Southeast Asian airlines and online travel agencies (OTAs), to attract the increasing number of travelers from Southeast Asia.
A Lotte Duty Free representative stated, "We have prepared a variety of promotions for customers planning overseas trips during the autumn golden holiday season," and added, "We will continue to strive to provide customers with a highly satisfying shopping experience."
