National Gugak Center to Hold Academic Seminar on "Culture, Arts, and AI" on the 12th

The National Gugak Center announced that it will hold the 2025 Gugak Archive Academic Seminar under the theme of "Culture, Arts, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)" on September 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the Seminar Room on the first floor of Yeinmaru at the National Gugak Center.

During the first session, presenters will share cases of AI utilization in the culture and arts sector in line with national policies, and examine copyright issues related to AI-generated outputs. The presentations will be delivered by Professor Yeon Seung of Ewha Womans University, Research Professor Park Jin Ho of Korea University, Yang Hyo Geol, CEO of DOST11, and Professor Lee Cheol Nam of Chungnam National University.


In the second session, an open discussion will be held with the presenters, covering a variety of topics related to the field of culture and arts and AI, and exploring strategies to prepare for the future.


An official in charge of the National Gugak Center Archive stated, "We expect this seminar to be an opportunity to reflect on the future of culture, arts, and AI, and the Gugak Archive will strive to incorporate the discussions from the seminar."


The Gugak Archive Academic Seminar has been hosted by the National Gugak Center since 2007, covering a wide range of topics such as the role of performing arts archives, copyright issues, and research on collected materials.
