First in South Korea to Achieve Standard Certification with Steam Robot Vacuum Cleaner
This Year's New Model Also Earns Top Grade, Making Samsung the Only Holder
Enhanced Security Based on Proprietary Knox Solution
Samsung Electronics' new robot vacuum cleaner has achieved the highest "Standard" grade in the government-led Internet of Things (IoT) security certification. The "Bespoke AI Steam" robot vacuum cleaner, which debuted last year, is the first in South Korea to attain the Standard grade, and Samsung Electronics remains the only company to hold this certification to date.
On September 2, Samsung Electronics announced that its 2025 model robot vacuum cleaner received the Standard grade in the IoT security certification program overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). Following the "Bespoke AI Family Hub," "Bespoke AI Hybrid," and "Bespoke AI Hybrid Kitchen Fit Max" refrigerators released in the first half of this year, the new robot vacuum cleaner has also earned the highest Standard certification, further demonstrating the company's security performance.
KISA's IoT security certification evaluates everyday IoT devices, such as robot vacuum cleaners, home cameras, and smart appliances, to determine whether they are safely protected from personal data breaches or external threats, and assigns certification grades accordingly.
The 2025 "Bespoke AI Steam" robot vacuum cleaner features enhanced security solutions. In addition to Samsung Electronics' proprietary Knox security solution, it has newly adopted the Trust Chain technology from "Knox Matrix," allowing devices connected via SmartThings to monitor each other's security status and detect or block threats. Furthermore, with the inclusion of "Knox Vault," which stores sensitive personal information such as passwords, authentication data, and encryption keys separately in a hardware security chip, the company emphasizes that users' personal data is protected even more thoroughly.
The new product will be showcased at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Germany on September 5 (local time) and is scheduled for release within the year.
Kim Deokho, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Division, stated, "The robust Knox-based security performance built into Samsung Electronics' Bespoke appliances is objectively recognized by various organizations," adding, "We will continue to advance our security solutions so that users can use Samsung Electronics' AI appliances with even greater confidence."
