“19+ Mystical Party” at Jamwonhagil
Unlimited Draft Beer and Unique Events Every Friday Night in September
Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsu) will host the “19+ Mystical Party” (a beer party for adults aged 19 and over, held every Friday near Sinsa Station and Nonhyeon Station) every Friday in September at “Jamwonhagil,” a commercial district in Jamwon-dong.
The “Mystical Party” is an event where visitors who spend over 10,000 won at stores in the Jamwonhagil area between Sinsa Station and Nonhyeon Station can enjoy unlimited draft beer for one person. Guests can sit at outdoor tables and enjoy food and beer.
This event, which was first launched last year to revitalize the Jamwon-dong commercial district, served as a catalyst for boosting the local economy and received enthusiastic support from merchants. Hosted by Seocho District and co-organized with the Jamwon-dong Merchants’ Association, the event will be held four times in total, every Friday throughout September, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
This year, the event will feature upgraded, unique LED lighting that creates a distinctive and mystical atmosphere exclusive to the Mystical Party. LED-decorated tables and balloons, along with a 3-meter-tall “Mystical” character photo zone, are expected to attract visitors’ attention.
In addition, a variety of interactive activities will be held, including a DJ party with music, a beer-drinking contest, and a Jamwonhagil quiz. Participants will receive discount coupons that can be used at more than 70 stores in the Jamwon-dong commercial district.
Merchants are also actively participating by receiving consulting from food and beverage experts. They are developing a variety of festival-themed food menus and operating eight flea market booths at the event site, aiming to offer visitors a rich array of sights and foods to enjoy.
“Jamwonhagil,” the venue for this event, was created as part of the district’s commercial branding initiative and strengthens the identity of Jamwon-dong as a place where diverse flavors and fun come together. In particular, it reflects the hope that the Jamwon-dong commercial area-famous in the 1980s for its soy sauce marinated crab alley-will continue to attract younger generations and enjoy lasting prosperity.
Jeon Seongsu, Mayor of Seocho District, stated, “On Friday nights throughout September, I hope residents will create special memories at the Jamwonhagil Mystical Party, and that merchants will seize the opportunity to boost their sales. We will continue to support the new commercial brand ‘Jamwonhagil’ in various ways so that it becomes deeply recognized by the public and brings renewed vitality to the local economy.”
