Selected as the "Sentence of the Month for August 2025"
A message commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation

Conveying the spirit of independence and the wishes of forebears
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) announced on September 2 that the narration script for a promotional video, collaboratively produced with students from the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Dongseo University to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation, has been selected as the "Sentence of the Month for August 2025" by the Korea PR Association.
The selected sentence is, "We live within the wind (風) of 80 years ago, within their wish (願)," which captures the spirit of the era and the longing for independence held by the forebears at the time of Liberation in 1945.
"Sentence of the Month for August 2025" was chosen through a two-stage review process: three outstanding entries were selected in the first round, and the final winner was determined in the second round. In the final evaluation, the entry competed with messages such as that delivered by Pope Leo XIV at the closing Mass of the "2025 Jubilee for Young People."
Cho Youngseok, President of the Korea PR Association and a judge for the contest, explained the selection by stating, "University students who will lead a new era for Korea directly participated, and the campaign message resonates deeply and is timely."
Kim Gayoung, a student from Dongseo University who submitted the winning entry, said, "The wind (風) from 80 years ago symbolizes the historical flow and atmosphere of the time of Liberation in 1945, and their wish (願) represents our ancestors' yearning for independence and freedom. I feel a great sense of accomplishment that the message my peers and I created has been selected as the 'Sentence of the Month for August.'"
In July, to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation, the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs produced a promotional video with the Dongseo University "Mongttang" student team, reflecting the perspective of the younger generation. This award is seen as a meaningful achievement in conveying the value of national merit to the public through the language and emotions of young people.
Director Namil Lee of the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said, "It is very meaningful that the message expressing the significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation together with young people has been selected as the 'Sentence of the Month for August.' We will continue to promote a culture of honoring patriots and veterans that resonates across generations."
