This year’s "Ogamsa Festa," held under the theme of "Rest," welcomed over 100 tourists from outside the metropolitan area, who traveled by train and participated in a variety of programs over a two-day, one-night stay. During the day, participants enjoyed activities such as a tour of Jangneung and a visit to the Yeongwol Tourism Center's media art exhibition, a foot bath and wine experience at Yemil Winery, and aromatherapy and wood-burning workshops at Hi Healing One. At night, they joined the "Yeongwol in the Night" program at Gwanpungheon, an initiative to promote nighttime tourism, where they experienced a unique journey encompassing Yeongwol’s history, nature, and gourmet offerings. Each participant paid a 30,000 won participation fee and received a 10,000 won local gift certificate in return, which encouraged spending within the region during the event and contributed to boosting the local economy.
The Daseotbaljaguk Tourism Marketing Council is a tourism alliance formed in 2007 by five cities and counties in the Yeongseo inland region-Wonju, Hongcheon, Hoengseong, Yeongwol, and Pyeongchang. The council has been jointly developing innovative and diverse local tourism content.
Building on the success of last year’s "Herong Herong Camping Diary," Yeongwol County further strengthened its position as a destination for immersive tourism through this year’s "Ogamsa Festa." In particular, the event saw notable participation from families and tourists from outside Gangwon Province, confirming new possibilities for local tourism.
Ahn Baekwoon, Head of the Culture and Tourism Division, stated, "This year’s Ogamsa Festa combined Yeongwol’s cultural heritage and gourmet offerings to provide a new travel model focused on rest and healing. We will continue to expand immersive programs so that tourism can once again drive the local economy."
