Gimpo City Appoints Former Asia Today Deputy Director Lee Sangmin as New Public Relations Planning Officer

Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province has appointed Lee Sangmin, Deputy Director of Asia Today and an external expert, as the new Public Relations Planning Officer, an open position. On September 1, the city presented the appointment letter to Lee Sangmin, the newly appointed Public Relations Planning Officer, who previously served as an executive at a media company.

Lee Sangmin, the new Public Relations Planning Officer, is a seasoned media professional with over 30 years of experience. He has served as Deputy Director at Asia Today, Deputy Director of the Industry Department at The Shina Ilbo, and Deputy Director of the Construction and Society Department at Maeil Ilbo.

Lee Sangmin will oversee all duties of the Public Relations Planning Office, including: establishing publicity plans for city administration; managing media coverage and responses; producing and distributing city newsletters; creating promotional materials and managing public relations ambassadors; building and operating the city website; promoting the city through social media and managing channels; producing and managing city promotional videos; and managing promotional facilities and running training programs to strengthen public relations capabilities.

Lee Sangmin's position is classified as a Local Administrative Officer (Level 5, General Fixed-Term Appointment). His term will run for two years, from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.
