"Two Types of Malware and Five Types of Web Shells Detected and Deleted on Three Servers"
A cyber breach occurred at Lotte Card. No customer information leaks or ransomware infections have been confirmed.
According to Lotte Card on September 1, a detailed investigation was conducted after malicious code was detected during a server inspection on August 26. The investigation revealed two types of malware and five types of web shells on three servers, all of which were immediately deleted.
Further investigation into additional breaches or information leaks found evidence as of 12:00 p.m. the previous day that an external attacker had attempted to extract data from the online payment server.
Afterward, a specialized external firm conducted a thorough investigation, and no external leaks of key information such as customer data or serious malware infections like ransomware were identified.
A Lotte Card representative stated, "No customer information leaks or malware infections such as ransomware have been confirmed at this time, and we will take every precaution to prevent such incidents from occurring."
