On the morning of September 1, key executives and staff, including CEO Na Chaebum of Hanwha General Insurance, attended the launch ceremony of the future mobility public-private council NUMA (Next Urban Mobility Alliance) held at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and declared their commitment to active cooperation for future transportation innovation.

NUMA is a community with broad participation from both the public and private sectors, established to create a sustainable future mobility ecosystem based on autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Its members include companies such as Hyundai Motor, Kia, Naver, KT, CJ Logistics, Tmap Mobility, and Hyundai Card; government agencies such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; local governments including Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province; and academic institutions such as the Korea Transport Institute, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University.

Hanwha General Insurance is the only insurance company participating in the council. The company plans to work together with other participating organizations to address issues such as bridging transportation gaps, enhancing traffic safety, connecting transportation data, and fostering the growth of the transportation industry.

Carrot General Insurance, a subsidiary of Hanwha General Insurance, has established itself as the nation's first digital-only non-life insurer by offering services such as insurance premium discounts linked to driving distance and habits, as well as the 'AI Accident Care' service, which automatically detects major accidents.

Based on its capabilities in data-driven insurance innovation, Hanwha General Insurance plans to further strengthen its insurance solution expertise within NUMA, optimizing for the era of urban mobility and autonomous driving.

A Hanwha General Insurance official stated, "We are honored to participate and deeply empathize with the council's goal of solving social issues through technology and cooperation to realize a sustainable smart city," adding, "With this opportunity, we will expand our role as an insurer in building a sustainable and safe transportation ecosystem."
