Supporting Firefighters’ Recovery from Heat Exhaustion on Site

On September 1, the Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Lim Chaecheong) announced that it visited the site of the "Yeongdong Fire Station Emergency Relief Comprehensive Drill" held in Yeongdong County, North Chungcheong Province, and provided snacks to approximately 200 firefighters who participated in the training under the scorching heat.
At the site, a snack truck was operated, offering 200 servings of snacks such as coffee and fruit cups, allowing the firefighters to recharge during their break time.
An official from the Yeongdong Fire Station stated, "Training under extreme heat leads to significant physical exhaustion for the firefighters. Thanks to the attention and support from the Korea Disaster Relief Association, the morale of the firefighters has been boosted, and their training response capabilities have been further strengthened."

The Korea Disaster Relief Association is conducting the "I Am a Firefighter" campaign to improve awareness and working conditions for firefighters, and continues to support firefighters at disaster sites such as wildfires and floods. In addition, the association operates a fundraising campaign for firefighter support through the online donation platform Naver Happybean, encouraging citizens to participate.
Shin Hoon, Secretary-General of the Korea Disaster Relief Association, said, "We deeply appreciate the dedication of firefighters who protect public safety on the front lines of disaster sites. We will continue to support on-site firefighters responding to climate disasters in the future."
