Iksan City to Host 'Iriwa Pocha Festival' on September 5-6

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province announced on September 1 that it will host the 3rd Iriwa Pocha Festival at the Nambu Market parking lot area in Iksan on September 5 and 6.

This event, organized by Iksan City and the Old Market Merchants Association with the cooperation of the Nambu Market Merchants Association, has established itself as a signature festival that revitalizes traditional markets and receives enthusiastic responses every year.

The festival venue will feature around 40 generous pocha menu items, ranging from fried chicken and seasoned skate sashimi to kimchi pancakes, stir-fried pork, and shrimp tempura. Most dishes will be offered at affordable prices around 10,000 won, and a food truck zone will also operate to satisfy a wide variety of tastes.

In addition, in collaboration with local company Hite Jinro, refreshing alcoholic beverages will be served at low prices. The festival will also feature two days of stage performances, including a citizen singing contest, dance battle, singer performances, and DJ shows, creating a lively festival atmosphere.

Notably, those who pay with the local currency "Dairome Card" will receive an additional 10% point accumulation, resulting in a maximum discount effect of up to 23%.

The city plans to conduct thorough pre-event hygiene and safety training for participating vendors to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival experience.

Yoo Geunu, president of the Old Market Merchants Association, said, "Based on the enthusiastic response to last year's festival, we have prepared an even more upgraded lineup this year. We hope to share the unique charm and excitement of traditional markets with all our citizens."
