This expo, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Energy Agency, is the largest energy and climate industry exhibition in Korea, with over 560 companies participating.

Pohang City operated a promotional booth to showcase its future vision, focusing on themes such as fostering new growth industries including hydrogen and digital (AI) sectors, its bid to host the 33rd United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP33) in Pohang, and promoting global networks and the MICE industry.

In particular, the city shared the achievements of its carbon neutrality policies and its development direction as a 'future-oriented industrial city,' drawing significant interest from domestic and international stakeholders.

In addition to participating in the expo, the city is actively engaging on the international stage. On August 26, at the '16th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM16)' and the '10th Mission Innovation Ministerial (MI-10)' held in Busan, Pohang discussed clean energy transition and carbon neutrality strategies with delegations from various countries and shared its achievements and vision.

Furthermore, at the 'Global Low-Carbon Steel Workshop' held in Pohang from August 27 to 29, government officials from 35 countries and global steel industry experts gathered to discuss decarbonization technologies and policies. At this event, Pohang demonstrated its potential to grow as a 'center of the sustainable steel industry.'

Through these diverse activities, the city is expanding international consensus for its bid to host COP33 and further strengthening its status as a leading city in carbon neutrality.

A city official stated, "Through our participation in the expo and hosting of international conferences, we were able to widely promote Pohang's new growth strategies and commitment to international cooperation," adding, "We will continue to steadily prepare for sustainable urban development in the future."
