On September 1, Daegu Dalseo District (District Mayor Lee Taehoon) announced that it held the inaugural ceremony of the "Dasibom Youth Supporters Group" in the district office's main auditorium, officially launching activities to address the issues of isolated and reclusive youth in collaboration with the local community.
More than 100 people, including the supporters group and local residents, attended the event, which included a pledge and appointment ceremony, the symbolic performance "Building Tomorrow Together," and a special lecture by an expert, adding significance to the launch.
The launch ceremony of the supporters group reaching out to isolated and reclusive youth is taking place.
The "Dasibom Youth Supporters Group" is a public welfare cooperation model in which peers proactively reach out to discover, support, and connect youth who are socially isolated and psychologically anxious, making it difficult for them to ask for help.
The group consists of 16 local university students and supports the social reintegration of youth through discovering and reaching out to isolated and reclusive youth, conducting campaigns, and promoting awareness and improvement activities based on social media.
Daegu Dalseo District plans to use the launch of the supporters group as an opportunity to systematically assess the situation of isolated and reclusive youth and to operate an integrated support system, including tailored counseling, psychological support, and connections to youth programs.
Lee Taehoon, Mayor of Dalseo District, stated, "It is meaningful that we have created an initiative where peers are the first to reach out to youth who are experiencing isolation and disconnection," adding, "I hope the activities of the supporters group will become a catalyst that brings new hope and courage to reclusive youth."
