Wando County in South Jeolla Province is significantly increasing the discount benefits of the Wando Love Gift Certificate to revitalize the local economy and stabilize livelihoods.
According to Wando County on September 1, the discount rate for the Wando Love Gift Certificate will be raised by 5 percentage points from the previous 10% to 15% until December. The annual purchase limit has also been increased by 1 million won, from 5 million won to 6 million won. However, the monthly purchase limit will remain the same at 500,000 won.

The Wando Love Gift Certificate is currently available in two types: paper (pre-discount method) and mobile (cashback accumulation method). It can be used like cash at 2,557 affiliated stores in the county, including restaurants, traditional markets, hospitals, private academies, and beauty salons.
The county explained that by increasing the discount rate, household burdens for residents will be reduced during peak consumption periods such as Chuseok and the year-end and New Year holidays, while increased local spending is expected to boost sales for small businesses. In particular, the economic impact is expected to be even greater as the second round of livelihood recovery consumption coupons will be distributed from this month through October.
A county official stated, "While we will strengthen inspections to prevent illegal distribution of the gift certificates, we also plan to actively promote the program so that residents can conveniently use the certificates."
