Truston Launches Pinset Plus Target Conversion Fund No.2

Truston Asset Management announced the launch of the "Truston Pinset Plus Target Conversion Fund No.2 [Bond-Mixed, Fund of Funds Type]," which inherits the proven management strategy of the "Pinset Small & Mid Cap Fund." Subscriptions will be accepted from September 1 to September 11.

This new fund follows the success of the first fund, which was launched in June and attracted strong investor interest by reaching 98.5 billion won in assets under management in just 10 business days. It has been introduced in response to growing demand from investors seeking returns while preparing for market volatility.

Pinset Plus Fund No.2 is designed to convert to a bond-focused fund once it achieves its target return of 7%, selling stock-related assets and investing in bond-related assets. Lee Kyooho, Executive Director at Truston, explained, "We plan to secure stable returns through bond assets and strategically utilize an equity allocation of less than 50% to achieve the target return early."

The equity management for the fund will be overseen by Ha Hyunjin, Head of Division at Truston Asset Management. The "Truston Pinset Small & Mid Cap Fund," managed by Ha Hyunjin, recorded a return of 66.51% over the eight months since the beginning of this year. This outperformed the KOSPI's 32.78% rise during the same period by approximately 33 percentage points (P).

Ha Hyunjin emphasized, "The core of the Pinset strategy is to identify and hold 'quality companies' with growth potential and capital efficiency ahead of others. Depending on market conditions, we will also selectively include stocks with strong momentum to pursue additional returns."

Regarding the domestic stock market environment, he assessed, "It remains undervalued compared to global markets. Considering abundant liquidity and the spread of government policies to improve the capital market, there is ample upside potential."

The fund's equity segment selects undervalued stocks relative to intrinsic value through Pinset Research, holds them long-term, and realizes gains during periods when market prices converge with intrinsic value.

The fund aims to generate excess returns by identifying hidden champion companies in global policy beneficiary sectors such as defense, shipbuilding, and power equipment, as well as in structurally growing industries like AI data centers and entertainment, and companies with rising expectations for improved corporate governance. The fund also flexibly adjusts its equity allocation and stock selection style in response to market cycles.

Lee Kyooho stated, "Recently, the domestic stock market surged on expectations from government policies and is now taking a breather, but the momentum for re-rating remains valid. Through the Pinset strategy, which selects quality stocks, we aim to secure excess returns. This fund will be a suitable alternative for medium-risk, medium-return investors who wish to manage volatility through bond allocations."
