Customer Appreciation Event Planned
KB Kookmin Card announced on September 1 that its flagship private label credit card (PLCC), the "Coupang Wow Card," has surpassed 2 million cards issued just two years after its launch.
A company representative explained, "This is considered an exceptional achievement within the industry, and the card is now recognized as a leading product in the PLCC market."
Since its launch, the card has attracted more customers by offering a 4% Coupang Cash reward (up to 40,000 won per month) across Coupang services, including Coupang, Coupang Eats, and Coupang Play.
In particular, the card also provides a 1.2% reward (up to 12,000 won per month) at other on- and offline merchants outside of Coupang, as well as additional benefits at various partner companies such as Lotte World, Trip.com, and Megabox, further enhancing customer satisfaction.
KB Kookmin Card announced it will hold a special event to commemorate surpassing 2 million cards issued, running until October 31.
During the event period, the top 2,220 customers ranked by cumulative spending at KB Kookmin Card’s benefit partner offline stores, known as Star Shops, using the Coupang Wow Card, will receive a "Coupang Gift Card."
Those ranked 1st to 20th will each receive a Coupang Gift Card worth 2 million won, those ranked 21st to 220th will receive a 500,000 won card, and those ranked 221st to 2,220th will receive a 50,000 won card.
Customers can check their cumulative spending, current ranking, and estimated prize amount in real time through the KB Kookmin Card website and the KB Pay application event page.
Additionally, customers who had no spending at merchants other than Coupang, Coupang Eats, and Coupang Play in the three months prior to the event (from June 1 to July 31) and make a purchase of 10,000 won or more at a Star Shop offline merchant using the Coupang Wow Card will receive a 10,000 won "Coupang Eats Gift Card."
A company representative stated, "The Coupang Wow Card was able to surpass 2 million issued cards in such a short time thanks to our customers’ support," adding, "We will continue to enhance customer satisfaction by providing a wide range of differentiated partnership services."
Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Card plans to maximize synergy in its partnership business with Coupang by using Coupang Gift Cards as a marketing offer.
