Sampyo Group's Jeong Inwook Academic Scholarship Foundation announced on the 1st that it awarded scholarship certificates to five students at the "4th Forest Pioneer Scholarship Program Certificate Award Ceremony" held at the Lakai Sandpine Convention Center in Gangneung on August 26.
This program provides research scholarships to graduate students conducting research on scientific advancement and field technology development in the forestry sector. The Jeong Inwook Academic Scholarship Foundation has been selecting and supporting scholarship recipients every year since the launch of the first cohort in 2022.
The fourth cohort of scholarship recipients consists of students currently conducting practical research in master's and doctoral programs. They were selected through a comprehensive evaluation of the specificity and feasibility of their research plans, academic contributions, and future potential. Each recipient will receive up to 24 million won (1 million won per month) over a maximum of two years to support their research based on their proposed projects.
The Jeong Inwook Academic Scholarship Foundation expects that this support will not only help graduate students continue their studies stably despite a challenging environment caused by reductions in research and development (R&D) budgets, but also serve as an opportunity to revitalize in-depth research in forestry and forest science.
Secretary General Yoo Yongjae said, "We hope this scholarship program will serve as a foundation for young researchers who will lead the future of forestry and forest science to continue their challenges and growth," adding, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that young researchers can achieve academic success in the future."
