Earn Up to 65,000 Points Monthly
"Solmate Card" for Seniors Launches on September 8
Shinhan Card announced on September 1 that it has launched the "Shinhan Card Solplan Card" in collaboration with Shinhan Bank, allowing users to accumulate up to 65,000 points per month.
The card features an intuitive and easy-to-use service structure. A key benefit is that customers can receive greater rewards when linking with Shinhan Bank.
First, it offers a basic reward rate of up to 1.5% at all domestic and overseas merchants, and up to 5% special rewards in categories frequently used in daily life.
Special rewards apply to fuel (SK Energy, GS Caltex), online shopping (Coupang, SSG.COM, Musinsa, 29CM), and food delivery applications (Ttaenggyeoyo, Baemin, Yogiyo, Coupang Eats).
Points are accumulated within the monthly integrated limit for Sol Points. If monthly spending in the previous month is between 400,000 won and less than 1 million won, users can earn a basic 1% and a special 2.5%. For spending of 1 million won or more, users can receive a basic 1.5% and a special 5% up to a maximum of 50,000 points per month.
Depending on Shinhan Bank usage, up to 15,000 points per month are provided for regular payments for OTT services (Netflix, YouTube Premium, Tving, Disney Plus) and digital memberships (Naver Plus Membership, Coupang Wow Membership).
If the previous month’s payment account balance is between 1 million won and less than 2 million won, users receive 5,000 points per month; if it is 2 million won or more, they receive 15,000 points. Combining both benefits, users can accumulate up to 65,000 points per month.
Additional benefits are provided when the accumulated points are deposited into Shinhan Bank’s new checking account product, the "Solplan Point Box (Point Box)." An extra 10% is added to the deposit amount, and an annual interest rate of 5% is applied to the deposited points.
For example, if 65,000 points earned with the Solplan Card are deposited into the Point Box, an additional 10% is credited, resulting in a total deposit of 71,500 points. An annual interest rate of 5% is then applied to this amount.
Points deposited in the Point Box can be freely withdrawn or transferred through the linked account. If not withdrawn separately, the "Swing Service" will automatically transfer the balance to the linked account each year.
A Shinhan Card representative said, "As we provide top-level financial benefits together with Shinhan Bank, we expect this to be a highly satisfying product for Shinhan Financial Group customers."
Meanwhile, Shinhan Card will also launch the "Solmate Shinhan Card Solmate Card" on September 8, which combines the Solplan Card with the group’s senior customer-focused brand, "Shinhan Solmate."
The card offers the same basic benefits as the Solplan Card. For special rewards, categories preferred by the senior generation are included, such as hospitals, supermarkets (E-Mart, Traders Wholesale Club, Lotte Mart, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart), coffee shops, and bakeries.
The annual fees for the Solplan Card and Solmate Card are 30,000 won for domestic use and 33,000 won for international use (Mastercard), respectively.
Applications for the card can be made through the Shinhan Solbank App.
