The Dajeonghan Yakson project by HK Innoen was designed to fulfill the company’s social responsibility in connection with the core mission of a pharmaceutical company. Until December this year, the company plans to carry out activities such as a mobile medication counseling center, public campaigns promoting the proper use of pharmaceuticals, and the collection of unused medicines.

For this project, corporations, experts, and the local community have joined forces. First, HK Innoen is planning the project and providing funding based on its pharmaceutical expertise. The nonprofit organization of pharmacists, Neulpheumgachi, is leading on-site execution by leveraging its expertise in medication counseling, medication guidance, and safe collection and disposal of pharmaceuticals. Lastly, local welfare institutions in Seongnam City (such as Taepyeong 2-dong Welfare Center and Pangyo Comprehensive Social Welfare Center) are identifying residents’ needs and encouraging participation to ensure the project is closely connected to the local community.

Previously, as part of this project, HK Innoen and its partner organizations operated a mobile medication counseling center at welfare institutions in the Seongnam area. By providing customized counseling to medically vulnerable groups and people taking multiple medications, as well as promoting the proper use of pharmaceuticals and collecting unused medicines, the project has contributed to raising awareness about the proper use of pharmaceuticals in the community.

HK Innoen linked this project to its new employee orientation held last month, so that new hires could experience the social responsibility of a pharmaceutical company and become more engaged in their roles. The new employees attended lectures by Neulpheumgachi on "Proper Use of Medicines" and "Risks of Unused Medicines," analyzed unused medicines, and learned about the connection between pharmaceutical safety management and environmental protection.

An HK Innoen representative stated, "The social responsibility of a pharmaceutical company is not just about production, but also about managing every process from use to disposal of medicines," adding, "The new project 'Dajeonghan Yakson' is a meaningful collaboration between the company, experts, and the local community, and we plan to continue pursuing it to fulfill our corporate social responsibility."

Meanwhile, in February, after opening its convergence research facility "HK Innoen Square" in the Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, HK Innoen signed an ESG environmental business agreement with Seongnam City and has since carried out various win-win activities linked to the local community. In May, to mark the International Day for Biological Diversity, the company conducted an "Invasive Plant Removal" activity at Tancheon Taepyeong Wetland, and on the upcoming 24th, it plans to participate in a "Biodiversity Exploration" event at Yuldong Park in Seongnam.
