Hanwha Vision announced on the 1st that it showcased advanced solutions based on AI cameras at the international security exhibition 'ESS+' (Efficiency, Security, Safety) held from August 27 to 29 in Bogota, Colombia, South America.
'ESS+' is one of the three major security exhibitions in Central and South America, with around 400 companies setting up booths each year. At this exhibition, Hanwha Vision presented its main AI products, including the latest AI chipset Wisenet 9, AI video solutions for key industries, and cloud-based solutions. Products that drew particular attention included ultra-high-definition AI cameras for monitoring wide areas, a 31x zoom camera capable of recognizing vehicle license plates, and AI multidirectional cameras suitable for 360-degree monitoring.
The Santiago de Surco district office in Lima, Peru, has introduced about 2,000 AI cameras from Hanwha Vision for its intelligent security surveillance project. The AI cameras installed in Surco identify people, vehicles, and more to analyze video footage. They are expected not only to effectively monitor the city but also to provide local governments with insights for policy development.
The South American video security market is growing at an annual rate of over 10%, driven by government-led public safety enhancement policies and the activation of smart city projects. In particular, facial recognition solutions for crime prevention are attracting attention, accelerating the AI transformation of the public security market.
To secure a leading position in this AI security market, Hanwha Vision is focusing on expanding customer touchpoints. In early August, the company opened a technology experience center called 'HITE (Hanwha Innovation & Technology Experience)' in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to effectively showcase its technological capabilities to the market. This is the second experience center in Central and South America, following one in Mexico City.
