This relay briefing series has been organized to support the development of alternative markets and the expansion of trade missions to regions such as the Global South in response to the rapidly changing trade environment. It also aims to help small local businesses enter overseas markets in line with national policy objectives.

KOTRA plans to visit industrial complexes and clusters in each region to provide companies with the information they need on-site. The briefings will focus on specialized industries in each region, such as future mobility and shipbuilding equipment in North Jeolla, medical devices in Gangwon, cosmetics in Incheon, automotive parts and shipbuilding and marine equipment in Ulsan, agricultural food, bio, and cosmetics in North Chungcheong, and consumer goods in Busan.

During the briefings, KOTRA will collaborate with the Korea Customs Service and the Korea Origin Information Agency to provide guidance on the latest customs regulations and origin management practices that exporters must know. In addition, on-site consultations tailored to each company will address challenges in the export process and offer solutions. Promising alternative market information will also be shared, along with introductions to relevant support programs, enabling companies to proactively seek new opportunities.

KOTRA will also host a local government cooperation seminar in Daejeon on September 2-3 to further develop support models for local businesses. On the first day, ten overseas regional headquarters will propose next year's collaborative projects to local governments, reflecting regional characteristics and opportunities, and will share best practices and success stories in export support while discussing ways to strengthen cooperation. On the second day, local government officials will receive training on topics such as responding to changes in U.S. customs policy, strategies for diversifying export markets, supporting domestic companies in becoming exporters, utilizing KOTRA's branch office and consumer goods support programs, export support cases using AI and digital tools, and overseas marketing strategies for K-Content, all aimed at enhancing their practical capabilities.

Starting next year, KOTRA plans to significantly expand the scale of local trade missions to emerging markets such as the Global South and actively support small local businesses in pioneering overseas markets. Through these efforts, KOTRA aims to broaden the export base of regional companies and contribute to balanced national development.

Kang Kyungseong, President of KOTRA, stated, "As the global trade order and policy environment change rapidly, regional companies are facing difficulties in responding to evolving overseas markets. KOTRA will work even more closely with local governments to proactively support small and medium-sized local enterprises in pioneering new alternative markets and achieving stable overseas expansion."
