President Jae-myung Lee stated, "For the time being, I will focus on people's livelihoods and the economy in order to address the difficulties faced by the public and to seek new growth engines."

Kyuyeon Lee, Chief of Public Relations and Communication at the Presidential Office, outlined President Lee's policy direction during a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the 31st. Chief Lee said, "Because President Lee has been focused on the Korea-Japan and Korea-US summits for the past few weeks, he has emphasized since immediately after his overseas trips that he will personally prioritize domestic affairs, especially economic growth."

According to Chief Lee, President Lee will preside over a Cabinet meeting on September 2 to discuss the national growth strategy. Reports from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of Science and ICT will be presented, followed by in-depth discussions. The reporting and discussion process will be broadcast live.

At the upcoming Senior Presidential Aides' Meeting next week, discussions will be held under the theme of a major transformation in Korean manufacturing. President Lee will assess the current status of the manufacturing sector and review industrial policy directions and financial support measures.

In addition, President Lee will attend a Korean bio-industry innovation roundtable. Chief Lee explained, "We will discuss ways to foster the bio industry as a core industry for Korea, on par with semiconductors." President Lee will directly listen to challenges faced in the field and participate in discussions on policy and regulatory improvements.
