BC Card Supports Seoul's "Local Brand Commercial Districts" ... "Boosting Consumption"

BC Card announced on August 31 that it will hold a discount event for customers as part of Seoul City's ongoing "Local Brand Commercial District" development project.

The Local Brand project is a policy in which Seoul City selects distinctive commercial districts and supports the enhancement of autonomous management capabilities and self-sustainability of these areas through private sector-led initiatives.

From September 1 to December this year, BC Card will offer an event where customers who register for MyTag and spend at least 20,000 won in any of the eight local brand commercial districts will receive a 7,000 won discount per person, per district. The maximum discount available is 56,000 won. Certain business types, such as bars, gas stations, and hospitals, are excluded from the promotion.

Since 2023, BC Card has been collaborating with the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, an affiliate of Seoul City, to promote MyTag marketing. MyTag is a service that allows users to pre-register for discounts or events on Paybook, and then automatically applies discounts or rewards when the conditions are met.

There are eight designated local brand commercial districts. Two were first selected in 2023 (Gyeongchunseon Gongneung Forest Trail and Yongmaru-gil), two more in 2024 (Sharosu-gil and Chemistreet Gangnam Station), and four additional districts this year (419-ro, Hoegirang-gil, Seongbukdong-gil, and Sangbong Food Alley).

Jung Chul, Executive Director at BC Card, said, "MyTag marketing will create synergy with the livelihood recovery consumption coupon policy and help increase sales for small business owners.
