Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) announced on August 30 that starting from September and continuing through December, the discount rate for the Chuncheon Sarang Gift Certificate will be raised to 13%, and the issuance volume will be expanded to 10 billion won per month.

This move is in line with the central government's consumer coupon policy aimed at revitalizing the local economy, with the city government also contributing to boosting regional economic activity.

In particular, the September edition of the gift certificate will be issued starting on September 8. Citizens wishing to purchase should note that the purchase date has been pushed back by one week from the usual first day of each month, so it is essential to check the new schedule.

Each individual can purchase up to 400,000 won per month (200,000 won in paper form and 200,000 won in mobile form). Purchases can be made through ZeroPay-affiliated apps as well as designated financial institutions such as Nonghyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, and credit unions.

Previously, the Chuncheon Sarang Gift Certificate was issued at a 7% discount rate and a monthly scale of 6 billion won. From September to December, the city will operate at an unprecedented scale by increasing the discount rate to 13% and the issuance volume to 10 billion won per month. This measure is expected to reduce the cost of living for citizens during the Chuseok holiday and year-end peak consumption season, while also promoting local spending and boosting sales for small businesses.

A Chuncheon City official stated, "Following the government's consumer coupon policy for livelihood recovery, this expanded issuance led by the city is expected to further enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of local economic revitalization." The official also emphasized, "We ask citizens to remember that the issuance date begins on September 8."
