The remodeling of 'Anheung Sarangbang' was carried out through the 2023 General Rural Development Project to address the aging facilities and lack of space at the old Anheung Welfare Center.

The event was attended by Kim Myunggi, the governor of Hoengseong County, Jeong Unhyeon, the vice chairman of the Hoengseong County Council, and Shim Youngtaek, the superintendent of the Hoengseong Office of Education.

The Anheung Education Center had previously used the former Anheung Welfare Center, but due to its outdated facilities and insufficient space, it was difficult to accommodate many students.

In response, the county secured approximately 850 million won in national funding through the 2023 General Rural Development Project and carried out the remodeling, transforming the space into new offices, a cooking practice room, an auditorium, a "Dream Attic," and a shared kitchen.

The Hoengseong Village Education Community Project, which began in September 2020, is a program in which villages become classrooms and residents become teachers, providing after-school care and learning opportunities for local children through a cooperative system involving villages, schools, the county, and the Office of Education.

The project is currently being implemented in six townships.

Nam Bokhyeon, head of the Hoengseong County Education and Sports Division, said, "I hope that Anheung Sarangbang, a healthy and safe learning space for our children, will continue to serve as a central place where both schools and the local community can share and appreciate its value together."
