The first performance at the Seongnam Mulbit Garden Music Hall, which is set to open to the public on September 5, was attended by about 60 people, including Mayor Shin Sangjin, Honorary Artistic Director Gum Nansae, and on-site workers who participated in the construction.

In his greeting, Mayor Shin said, "I am deeply grateful for your dedication and effort in transforming an underground space that had been neglected for more than 30 years into a beautiful cultural venue that offers citizens rest and healing."

He added, "Thanks to Conductor Gum Nansae and the staff who planned this meaningful event, as well as the on-site workers who quietly worked in the underground space despite the scorching heat, such a wonderful venue could be completed. We will continue to expand cultural infrastructure for our citizens in the future."

The concert, hosted and narrated by Artistic Director Gum Nansae, lasted about 40 minutes. Talented performers such as Park Changhyuk (piano), Lee Yunseok (harmonica), An Yubin (clarinet), and Ji Ikhwan (guitar) presented familiar yet sophisticated pieces including "April in Paris," "Bulgarian Wedding Dance," "An American in Paris," and "Baiana."

Seongnam Mulbit Garden is being reborn as a cultural and artistic landmark as part of a project to open the site of the former sewage treatment plant to citizens. Ancillary facilities such as cafes will begin operations on September 3, and the music hall will officially open on September 5.
