'Pyeongsa' is the pen name of calligrapher Jeong Gwonho. Every year, an art exhibition is held with works submitted by students who receive calligraphy lessons from him every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Daedeok Youth Culture Center in Daejeon.

This year, 16 members of Pyeongsa have devoted themselves to creating 26 works, which are now on display. As the saying goes, "Calligraphy resembles its creator," the exhibited pieces reflect the members' relentless perseverance and dedication.

In the late Joseon Dynasty, Chusa Kim Jeonghee emphasized the importance of "the fragrance of letters and the spirit of books," saying, "Only when you have ten thousand books within your heart can their abundance overflow into your paintings and calligraphy."

This highlights just how much anguish and effort each artist pours into creating a single piece.

Jeong Gwonho stated, "Despite this year's unusual natural environment, we persevered with unwavering determination and, by mastering various calligraphic styles, have been able to hold the 23rd Pyeongsaseo Art Exhibition as a pillar of visual art."

He added, "I hope for guidance and encouragement so that we may become calligraphers who strive for even greater heights, despite any shortcomings in our works."
