Special Screenings of Four Book-Based Films in September
"Memoir of a Murderer," "Leafie, A Hen into the Wild," and More
Free Admission Every Wednesday, Tickets Distributed from 2:30 p.m.
Ulsan Library will host a special event where books and movies come together every Wednesday at 3 p.m. in September, in celebration of 'Reading Month.' The event will take place in the Comprehensive Video Room on the first floor of Ulsan Library.
This program is designed to provide a rich cultural experience that bridges reading and visual content, such as revisiting stories that moved readers as films.
Under the theme "Movie Adapted from a Book, Book Adapted into a Movie," a total of four films will be screened throughout September.
The schedule is as follows: On September 3, the animated film "Leafie, A Hen into the Wild," based on the children's book by Hwang Sunmi; on September 10, "Wonder"; on September 17, "Memoir of a Murderer"; and on September 24, "Little Women." All selected works are based on original books.
Additionally, while movies were previously screened every Wednesday at 4 p.m., the start time has been adjusted to 3 p.m. from September to allow ample time for longer films. This change is expected to provide citizens with a wider range of content.
All screenings are free of charge, and tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue starting at 2:30 p.m. on the day of each screening.
There are a total of 50 seats available, including 2 seats designated for people with disabilities.
An official from Ulsan Library stated, "We hope that this screening event, where people can experience stories they've read in books once again as films, will help citizens expand the meaning of reading. We will continue to bring the library closer to citizens through a variety of cultural programs."
