From Smartphone Basics to AI Marketing

Shinan County in South Jeolla Province has successfully completed the 'Farmer Informatization Education' program, which was launched with the goal of strengthening the digital capabilities of local farmers.
According to the county on the 29th, the program was designed to enhance the competitiveness of Shinan County farmers in the era of digital agriculture and to support the development of online sales channels.
The training, held since last month at the computer lab of the Shinan County Agricultural Technology Center, drew the participation of more than 80 farmers, demonstrating high interest. The curriculum was practice-oriented so that participants could immediately apply what they learned in the field. The program consisted of four courses: ▲ Basic smartphone usage ▲ One-person creator (video filming, editing, and YouTube) ▲ Smart Store operation ▲ SNS marketing using generative AI.
One participating farmer said, "By directly learning how to open a Smart Store and operate a YouTube channel, I gained confidence," adding, "I will actively use these skills to promote our agricultural products to more consumers in the future."
An official from the Shinan County Agricultural Technology Center stated, "Since the education was focused on hands-on practice, enabling farmers to use digital tools themselves, we expect tangible results," and added, "We will continue to provide customized training in line with changes in the agricultural environment."
The county expects that this training will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the online competitiveness of local agricultural products and have a positive effect on increasing farm income.
