The RISE Project Group of Soonchunhyang University announced that a team presenting a tourism revitalization platform for Chungnam Province won the grand prize at the '2025 Global Capstone Design Project' held in Shanghai, China.


This competition served as a venue for global industry-academia collaboration and the enhancement of students' international competitiveness, where Korean and Chinese university students showcased their creative achievements.


Soonchunhyang University stated on the 29th that it hosted the '2025 Global Capstone Design Project' in Shanghai from the 24th to the 27th.


This event was organized as part of the capstone design activities, a creative, hands-on educational program in which students apply their major knowledge to solve real-world problems.


Soonchunhyang University dispatched four teams selected through an on-campus competition, while Fudan University fielded four teams focused on business expansion, resulting in a heated competition.


The 'Travel Local' team (Kim Kyungtak, Kim Minseong, Yeom Junsun, Hwang Hyodong) from the Department of Internet of Things at Soonchunhyang University won the grand prize and the Chungnam Governor's Award for their presentation of the 'Chungnam Tourism Business Revitalization Travel Platform.' The project was highly praised for its creativity, innovation, and potential for international expansion.


In addition, the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group of Soonchunhyang University signed MOUs with Fudan University Technology Holdings and Chinese innovation platform company 36Kr, aiming to strengthen future student exchanges and support the overseas expansion of companies from the Chungnam region.


President Song Byungguk stated, "It was a meaningful occasion where our students' achievements were validated on the international stage," adding, "We will continue to expand global cooperation programs to further enhance our competitiveness."


Meanwhile, the RISE Project Group at Soonchunhyang University is leading talent development and industry-academia cooperation in future strategic fields such as AI, healthcare, mobility, and carbon neutrality, and is supporting the innovative growth of regional companies through global projects.
