"14 Days of Intense Competition"... 2025 STAY Yeongdeok Autumn Middle School Soccer Tournament Concludes Successfully

The "2025 STAY Yeongdeok Autumn Middle School Soccer Tournament," where promising middle school soccer players from across the country competed, concluded its 14-day run on August 27.


Hosted by the Korea Football Association (KFA) and jointly organized by the Gyeongbuk Football Association, Yeongdeok County Football Association, and Yeongdeok County Sports Council, this tournament featured 129 teams from across the nation (64 U15 teams and 65 U14 teams). The high level of play demonstrated the potential of Korean soccer's future.


The winning and runner-up teams in each group were as follows: △U15 Cheongryong Group: Jeonnam Suncheon FC and Gyeongbuk Andong Middle School △U15 Baekho Group: Jeonbuk Wanju FC and Gyeongbuk Ganggu Middle School △U14 Cheongryong Group: Jeonbuk Wanju FC and Seoul LEO FC △U14 Baekho Group: Busan Gijang Middle School SCU and Jeonnam Suncheon FC.


In particular, Jeonbuk Wanju FC showcased its outstanding strength by winning both the U15 Baekho Group and the U14 Cheongryong Group, dominating in two age categories.

Yeongdeok County ensured the tournament ran smoothly and safely over the 14-day period by operating a comprehensive situation room, implementing tailored safety management at each stadium, and deploying medical personnel at all times, demonstrating thorough and experienced management that allowed the event to conclude without major incidents.


Additionally, during the tournament, thousands of athletes, their families, and officials stayed in the region for an extended period, significantly boosting the local economy in areas such as accommodation, food, and tourism.


County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "This tournament not only provided a stage for promising soccer players nationwide but also brought energy to the local community. We will continue to actively support strategic sports marketing and the hosting of more events to promote Yeongdeok's appeal and contribute to regional revitalization."
