All Ticket Sales to Be Donated to Charity
Dobong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Oh Eonseok) will host the region’s signature youth music festival, ‘OPCD STAGE,’ on September 27 at the east-side public parking lot of Chang-dong Station.
‘OPCD STAGE’ began in 2022 as ‘OPCD Week’ and has since presented unique performances each year under new themes. With a diverse lineup ranging from emerging musicians to professional artists such as Zion.T, Giriboy, Swings, and Car, the Garden, the festival attracts over 3,000 audience members at every event. This year’s theme is ‘Discovery,’ representing emerging musicians’ journeys to find their own musical identities and offering audiences the chance to discover new musical experiences.
The event will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will open with Beatpella House, featuring beatboxer Wing, followed by performances from emerging artists including Soul Delivery, UGP, Fredicasso, and ‘Open Chang-dong Friends (OPCD Friends).’
Through ‘Open Chang-dong Soul Blend,’ these artists will collaborate with local cafes to present special caf? music. The first part will conclude with performances by OPCD Friends and artists such as Sanmanhan Siseon, Choi Miru, Joo Hyerin, and Samsan, all of whom have been nominees or winners of the Korean Popular Music Awards’ Rookie of the Year.
In the second part, professional musicians Sunwoo JungA and pH-1 will take the stage, further heightening the excitement of the event. Part 2 requires a paid ticket, which can be purchased for 10,000 won (with a 2,000 won handling fee) on Interpark starting at 11:00 a.m. on September 1. All ticket sales proceeds will be donated in full to the Community Chest of Korea at the end of the year.
The festival grounds will also feature a variety of citizen participation booths, including graffiti, sentimental props, instant photo booths, caricatures, and food trucks, so that all visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Oh Eonseok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “What began as a small performance has now grown into ‘OPCD STAGE,’ the region’s representative youth music festival. Going forward, we will continue to create more opportunities for emerging and professional musicians in the area to come together on stage.”
