The mentoring program featured alumni mentors currently active in the fashion industry, including Byungkwan Kang (E-Land), Haneul Kim (Xexymix), Hyunjung Baek (Xexymix), Miae Lee (Millet), Jinhui Lee (Musinsa), Woosung Song (DRFT), Daeun Choi (CROIN), Sohee Son (Very Office), Saekyung Yang (G.Y International), Dongju Jeong (FIT Company), Seokyoung Lee (EEPY), and Nuri On (Peace Peace Studio).
Current students had the opportunity to explore their career paths in detail by participating in small group sessions focused on specific roles such as design, planning, pattern making, production, marketing, styling, editing, and entrepreneurship, where they received firsthand experiences and advice from alumni working in the field.
Byungkwan Kang, an alumnus who participated as a mentor (E-Land SPAO Planning MD, Class of 2010), said, "I am proud that our alumni are working at the companies our juniors aspire to join. If you take on challenges with perseverance and confidence, anyone can pave the way to their desired path."
Kwon Sanghee, head of the Department of Fashion Industry, stated, "The fashion industry encompasses a wide variety of roles and changes rapidly. In such a field, the best mentors for students are alumni who are just a few years ahead. This mentoring program instilled confidence in students regarding their career paths and provided alumni with a meaningful opportunity to give back to their alma mater."
Meanwhile, the Department of Fashion Industry at Jeonju University, established in 2000, has been focusing on practical, industry-oriented education through university-industry cooperation. Notably, since hosting its first alumni forum in 2013, the department has held alumni job mentoring sessions every other year since 2017, actively supporting students in exploring career paths and strengthening their employability.
