The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon program is receiving positive reviews for reducing household burdens for citizens and increasing sales for small business owners, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
One citizen who used the consumption coupon said, "By purchasing daily necessities and visiting local restaurants with friends using the consumption coupon, I actually felt a reduction in my household expenses and noticed a boost in local spending."
A small business owner located in the Seogu district shared, "We saw more customers in the second half of the year compared to the first half, and I can clearly feel a recovery in sales thanks to the use of the consumption coupon," highlighting the program's impact on revitalizing the local economy.
As of 6:00 p.m. on August 27, the first round application rate for Daejeon's Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon reached 98.2%.
Out of 1,424,701 eligible citizens, 1,399,311 applied, surpassing the national average application rate of 98.11%. The total amount distributed was tallied at 273.9 billion won.
The city will actively encourage those who have not yet applied during the first round application period, which continues until 6:00 p.m. on September 12.
In particular, the city is strengthening its administrative efforts by identifying non-applicants through resident registration fact-finding surveys and providing on-site services for the elderly and those with mobility difficulties, ensuring that no one in need is left out of the benefits.
Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Daejeon’s Economic Bureau, stated, "We will make sure that every citizen of Daejeon can fully enjoy the benefits of livelihood recovery," and emphasized, "We will continue to do our utmost to provide practical support for local economic revitalization and household stability through citizen-centered field administration."
Meanwhile, the second round of applications for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon will be held from September 22 to October 31. It will provide 100,000 won per person to 90% of the population, excluding the top 10% income bracket. As in the first round, applications can be made using credit cards, debit cards, the Daejeon Sarang Card, or prepaid cards.
Notably, prepaid cards issued during the first round can be reused for the second round application. The distributed consumption coupons can be used until November 30, and any unused balance by the deadline will automatically expire.
