Korea Investment & Securities announced on August 29 that the "Korea Investment Goldman Sachs US Tech Fund" attracted approximately 216 billion KRW in investments on its first day of launch.
This fund focuses on investing in US technology stocks selected by the global asset manager Goldman Sachs Asset Management, building its portfolio around six core themes: semiconductors and hardware, digital innovation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, fintech, and online consumption. More than 60% of the fund's total assets are diversified into US tech companies, allowing investors to directly benefit from their growth.
In particular, the fund has drawn significant attention because Goldman Sachs Asset Management is entrusted with discretionary management specifically for Korean investors. To coincide with the product launch, Kim Sunghwan, CEO of Korea Investment & Securities, directly invited Matt Gibson, Head of Global Client Solutions Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Akash Tombare, Managing Director of Fixed Income & Liquidity Solutions Group, and Sung Cho, Managing Director of Fundamental Equity Group, to host an investment seminar for clients.
Previously, at the end of April, Korea Investment & Securities exclusively launched the "Korea Investment GS Multi-Income Fund," which invests in global bonds and structured products, raising approximately 180 billion KRW in just three days, marking another success in global product sales. This fund paid its first dividend at the end of May, with an annualized yield of about 5.3%.
In May, Kim Sunghwan and John Waldron, Chief Operating Officer of Goldman Sachs, attended a business agreement signing at Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York to share global product supply and market update materials from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, further enhancing their capabilities to provide global products and services.
Meanwhile, the Korea Investment Goldman Sachs US Tech Fund is an open-ended fund available through general accounts, as well as individual pension, retirement pension, and brokerage-type ISA accounts. Investors can choose between KRW and US dollar (USD) as the investment currency, and when investing in KRW, they can also select whether to hedge against currency risk. Detailed information about the product is available at Korea Investment & Securities branches and customer centers nationwide.
