Follow-up Investment for Brands Verified on the Wadiz Platform
Seolarrae Achieves Top Rank in Wadiz Health Food Category
and Fivefold Sales Growth
Wadiz Partners, the investment-focused subsidiary of Wadiz, announced on the 29th that it has made a new investment in "Seolarrae," a premium Korean herbal food brand. This investment was made through the "Next Brand" program operated by Wadiz Partners. It is a representative scaling up case in which a brand verified on the Wadiz platform continues to receive follow-up investments and achieves growth.
Seolarrae is a leading growth brand on Wadiz, founded by Ji Jonghwan, a licensed herbal pharmacist from Kyung Hee University, who combines traditional Korean herbal recipes with modern scientific manufacturing methods to research and develop herbal foods for modern consumers.
In the second half of last year, Seolarrae drew attention by raising over 400 million won in its first funding round on Wadiz with its "Royal Ssanghwan" product. Since then, the brand has continued to launch hit products such as Sansam Cultured Root and Yeonyu Chimhyanghwan, achieving an average funding amount of over 400 million won per project and establishing itself as the number one brand in the health food category on Wadiz.
Seolarrae's sales have been growing more than threefold each year, and as of the first half of this year, sales have already exceeded 1.9 billion won. Annual sales are expected to surpass 8 billion won, representing more than fivefold growth compared to last year.
Ji Jonghwan, CEO of Seolarrae, stated, "This investment is significant as it provides a foundation for Seolarrae to take a major step forward. Based on our new production plant and logistics center under construction in Hwaseong, we will enhance our competitiveness, accelerate research and development, and expand overseas to grow into a globally recognized K-food herbal brand."
Soh Kangseop, CEO of Wadiz Partners, commented, "Seolarrae is the leading health food brand on the Wadiz platform, having proven both its marketability and fan base. The brand has great potential to secure competitiveness in the global market based on its herbal food products. Through the Next Brand program, we will actively support K-food brands to make their mark in the global market."
Meanwhile, Wadiz Partners has been investing in the top-performing companies in each category among brands that have validated their initial market response through the Wadiz platform, and has continued to support their growth based on the platform. This strategy has been evaluated as an "integrated growth model" in which brands can secure customers, improve products, and develop marketing strategies based on actual purchase data, allowing capital, market, and distribution to operate organically.
In addition, Wadiz Partners was selected as the first general partner (GP) for the newly established "LICORN" fund of funds last year, forming a fund with Lotte Homeshopping, and is also serving as the lead organizer for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Entrepreneurial Small Business Growth Support Program (LIPS 1·2)."
