Playconomy, a company that develops "learning economics through play" content for children, is holding a free trial event.
Playconomy, led by CEO Ji Soohee, announced on August 29 that it will offer a free trial event for the children's economic newspaper "Playconomy Times," which is published in both Korean and English, throughout the month of September.
Playconomy Times is a weekly magazine that delivers the latest news from the global financial market to children in both Korean and English versions in an engaging way.
One of its key features is that the CEO, a former economic journalist, personally selects the articles and explains difficult economic news in an easy-to-understand manner through live Zoom classes with children every week.
For example, Issue 16 of Playconomy Times, published last Wednesday, included an article titled "Lotteria Opens Its First Store in the United States." During the Zoom class, children discussed topics such as the origin of hamburgers, the history of hamburger franchises, and each company's business strategies.
Additionally, English lessons using the English version of the newspaper are also offered. Hong Sungjin, currently an international news anchor at MBN, reads the English newspaper with the children and teaches them English pronunciation and key economic terms. Subscribers have responded positively, as they can learn English every week through the economic newspaper.
During the event period, participants can also receive free English workbooks as a supplement and experience live classes for solving English workbook problems.
Applications for the free Playconomy Times trial can be made through the KakaoTalk channel "Playconomy Times" or the Instagram account "Playconomy Times."
Ji Soohee, CEO of Playconomy, stated, "Every week, I conduct classes with children as if telling old stories about what is happening in the global market, making the lessons enjoyable. I prepared this event in the hope that children will have fun building economic knowledge and improving their literacy skills."
