On the afternoon of the 28th, the Democratic Party held a lawmakers' workshop at Paradise City in Incheon, where it selected and announced the key bills to be prioritized during the September regular session of the National Assembly.

Policy Committee Chairperson Han Jeongae explained during a briefing that "these bills have been identified as tasks we hope to mature and process during the September regular session or by the first half of next year."

Floor spokesperson Moon Geumjoo stated, "Our goal is to have the government organization act amendment, which includes the abolition of the prosecution office, processed at the plenary session on the 25th of next month," adding, "Our party's policy is to process it as quickly as possible."

The prosecution reform centers on separating the powers of investigation and indictment, while judicial reform involves amending the court organization act, including increasing the number of Supreme Court justices. Media reform is based on the substantive implementation of the "three broadcasting laws" and will further specify measures to sanction fake news and provide remedies for victims of media harm.

During the workshop, the party leadership also unanimously emphasized their strong commitment to pushing forward with reform legislation. Representative Chung Cheongrae stated, "The three major reform tasks are historic missions that must be accomplished without the slightest error, without wavering, and without discord." Floor Leader Kim Byunggi said, "We must steadfastly accomplish reform tasks such as prosecution reform and the eradication of fake information laws."

According to the National Assembly Act, the regular session is held annually for 100 days starting in early September. During this period, bills are processed, standing committees conduct audits of state affairs, and reviews of the budget and settlement of accounts are carried out.

According to the Democratic Party, the regular session will open on September 1, followed by keynote speeches by the leaders of the negotiation groups on September 9-10. Interpellation sessions for the government are scheduled to be held for four days from September 15 to 18. The Democratic Party has proposed to the People Power Party that the state affairs audit begin after Chuseok, starting on October 13.
