Finding Joy in Everyday Moments and the Beauty of Ulleungdo
Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province hosted a special guest lecture titled "Don't Postpone Happiness" at the Ulleung County Community Center on August 27, inviting poet Kang Wonseok as part of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Ulleung Campus program.
This lecture was organized as part of the educational program at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Ulleung Campus.
Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University is a flagship lifelong education platform operated by North Gyeongsang Province to provide residents with lifelong learning opportunities, enhance their quality of life, and foster a shared understanding of the province's values.
On this day, poet Kang Wonseok engaged the audience with warm poetic language and sincere stories, delivering the message that "happiness is not in the future, but in this very moment" to modern people living busy lives.
He emphasized that an attitude of discovering gratitude and joy in the small moments of everyday life leads to true happiness, leaving a deep impression on the audience. In addition, to commemorate his visit to Ulleungdo, he recited his original poem "Ulleungdo," receiving enthusiastic applause from those in attendance.
One attendee shared, "The message that happiness can be found in the small moments of daily life resonated deeply with me. Through today's lecture, I was able to slow down and take time to reflect on myself. Listening to the original poem about Ulleungdo made me appreciate the island's beauty in a new and moving way."
A representative from Ulleung County stated, "We will continue to prepare a variety of programs to provide local residents with diverse opportunities for learning and experiences in the humanities."
