The Only Institution to Achieve the Highest Rating Every Year Since the Assessment Began

BNK Gyeongnam Bank has firmly maintained its status as the leading financial institution in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions.

On August 28, BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced that it received the highest rating, "Best Grade," for the sixth consecutive year in the "2025 Regional Reinvestment Assessment for Financial Companies" for the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions.

Since the assessment began in 2020, BNK Gyeongnam Bank has been the only financial institution to achieve the "Best Grade" in the Gyeongnam and Ulsan regions for six consecutive years, continuing its unrivaled performance.

This year, among local banks in the Gyeongnam region, only BNK Gyeongnam Bank received the "Best Grade," while among national banks, only Industrial Bank of Korea achieved this distinction.

Notably, in the Ulsan region, BNK Gyeongnam Bank was the only one among 15 domestic banks to receive the "Best Grade," drawing significant attention.

Kim Taehan, President of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, stated, "As the leading financial institution representing Gyeongnam and Ulsan, BNK Gyeongnam Bank is faithfully fulfilling its role in supporting regional economic growth in line with the purpose of the regional reinvestment assessment. As a 'reliable partner of the region,' BNK Gyeongnam Bank will strive even harder to grow together with the local community and to be a beloved financial institution among local residents."

Meanwhile, on August 27, the Financial Services Commission held the Regional Reinvestment Assessment Committee and finalized the results of the 2025 Regional Reinvestment Assessment for Financial Companies, targeting 15 domestic banks and 12 mutual savings banks.

BNK Gyeongnam Bank received high scores in five assessment categories: prevention of local capital outflow, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, support for loans to low-income individuals, infrastructure investment, and regional financial support strategies.

Financial authorities introduced the "Regional Reinvestment Assessment System" in October 2018 to encourage financial companies collecting deposits and savings in local areas to support regional economic growth, and have been conducting assessments since 2020.

The results of the regional reinvestment assessment are used in the Financial Supervisory Service's management evaluation, as well as in the selection criteria for local government and local education office treasuries.
