Talent Development, Joint Research, and Linking National and Private Projects
Korea University Anam Hospital and Hanmi Pharmaceutical signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the field of medical big data on the 27th. Through this agreement, the two institutions have established a mutual cooperation system focused on nurturing talent in medical data analysis, promoting joint research, and linking national and private research projects.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will jointly promote research infrastructure exchanges and talent development projects to secure human resources for medical data analysis. They will also combine their respective data analysis capabilities and research networks to conduct joint research, and systematically support the planning, application, and execution of large-scale national and private research projects.
Kim Taehoon, Vice President of Research at Korea University Anam Hospital, stated, "Research based on big data and artificial intelligence is a crucial field that will drive future medical innovation," adding, "We have continuously expanded data-driven research with high clinical value, grounded in standardized medical data infrastructure and an awareness of issues in clinical practice." He further remarked, "Through this agreement with Hanmi Pharmaceutical, which possesses excellent research infrastructure, we hope both institutions can contribute to developing better treatments and improving patient health."
Park Myunghee, Executive Director at Hanmi Pharmaceutical, said, "Hanmi Pharmaceutical is strengthening data-driven decision-making throughout the entire innovative new drug R&D process." She added, "Contributing to academic advancement through research collaboration is also one of the roles of a pharmaceutical company," and expressed her expectations, saying, "By integrating Korea University Anam Hospital's medical big data capabilities with our standardized research environment, we can realize a long-term cooperation model that encompasses joint research, talent development, and the discovery of large-scale projects."
With this agreement, the two institutions plan to continue their collaboration by integrating hospital clinical data with the pharmaceutical company's research and development infrastructure, thereby contributing to new drug development and the advancement of precision medicine, as well as nurturing professionals and expanding the research ecosystem.
